Support Angel during his cancer journey
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Alicia Carpenter and my cousin Angel Leyva, was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. Angel had no prior signs of his illness before August 7, 2023, when he told his wife, Jana Yarnell, that he needed to go to the hospital. Angel is not a person who complains and never misses an unplanned day of work, so Jana knew that something was seriously wrong.
After many tests were ran it was discovered that his cancer started in his colon and then spread to his liver. The type of cancer Angel has is very progressive. He has been receiving chemotherapy since August 2023. He had just two more rounds to go when his health declined, and he was admitted into the hospital with internal bleeding in March 2024.
Angel has not been able to work since August 2023. He is the primary wage earner in the family. Jana also has a job and her employer has been wonderful working with her when she needs to be with Angel. At this time, we are unsure if he will be able to return to work as his cancer is treatable, but not curable. He will always be on medication to maintain his health.
Angel was recently approved for disability, but the amount is much less than his normal earnings. They have kept themselves afloat with their savings, but at this point that money has dwindled away.
Bills are piling up and Angel and Jana just need some help until they can get back on their feet after not receiving normal income for 7 months. Thank you for your support!
