Help Support Deputy Jailer Angel Bugg After Line-of-Duty Assault
On January 15, 2026, at approximately 9:30 p.m., McCracken County Deputy Jailer Angel Bugg was seriously injured in the line of duty during an inmate assault at the McCracken County Jail.
While deputies were carrying out their regular duties, an inmate forced his way out of a cell and assaulted one deputy. As Angel stepped in to help her fellow officer, she was struck forcefully in the face, resulting in severe facial trauma, including a broken jaw and cheekbone.
Additional staff responded immediately, regained control of the situation, and secured the inmate. Angel was transported to a local hospital and later transferred out of state for specialized medical care. She is currently awaiting facial surgery and faces a long and painful recovery.
Angel is a dedicated deputy jailer, a loving mother, and a deeply valued member of her work family. This incident has taken her away from her children, her home, and her job while she focuses on healing—both physically and emotionally.
This GoFundMe has been created to help Angel and her family with medical expenses, travel costs, lost wages, and everyday needs during her recovery. Any donation, no matter the amount, will help ease the burden during this incredibly difficult time. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page and keeping Angel in your prayers.
Angel and her family are profoundly grateful for the overwhelming support, love, and prayers they’ve already received. Thank you for standing with a first responder who was injured while protecting others.
