Support Anesia's Team USA Journey to Germany

Hi, Lavita here, and I’m organizing this fundraiser to support my daughter, Anesia, as she pursues another incredible opportunity in her wheelchair sports journey.

While January 30th, 2021 may have abruptly changed her life, it never changed her love for the game. During rehab recovery her physical therapist witnessed her joy, passion and strength on the court despite paraparesis no longer allowing her to continue with able-body basketball and immediately got her connected with a coach for wheelchair basketball. Although it hasn't always been an easy road to transition she stayed the course and thus she's been fully committed to still enjoying a sport she loves so dearly.

Here we are today, in addition to her upcoming India Sports Exchange program.....

Anesia has been selected to represent Team USA in wheelchair 3x3 Basketball Tournament at the World University Games in Germany this July, and I couldn’t be more proud of her dedication and hard work. This trip is not only a big deal as you know her story and her testimony but also a huge step in her athletic journey, and as any mother, I'm eagerly excited to help her chase her dreams! Wheelchair basketball has began to shape who she is and in such short timing has given her so many amazing opportunities—this trip is one of the first biggest yet!

While we’re thrilled, the travel, lodging, and event costs are a financial stretch, which she refuses to burden me alone. That’s why, with her request and my support I'm reaching out to our family, friends, and supporters for help. Every donation — no matter the size — brings her closer to her goal and means the world to our family.
