THIS IS THE OFFICIAL GOFUNDME.
Hello, as most of you already know, I am Rebekah and I am Andy’s (my father) full-time caregiver and single mother to Leilani. We are so blessed and fortunate to have a few close friends who we consider family. lind and Rick have been extremely helpful in helping me to prepare the necessary documents and transportation to and from dialysis because we no longer have a car. expense is the last thing I need to worry or be stressed out over. I would love to be able to give my amazing father the proper memorial service, cremation, and urn he wishes for.
As many of you know, his health has been deteriorating over the last 3.5 years. He was already suffering from several heart attacks, congestive heart failure, and losing his vision, and in December of 2023, he had to start dialysis three times weekly due to end-stage renal failure. All of this has taken a great toll on not only his physical health but his emotional and mental health. He suffers daily with constant pain, and the dialysis is becoming harder for him. As a result, Andy has decided to stop dialysis as of January 17th, 2025. He will then be on hospice, and without the dialysis, his body won't last long. He has been unable to work since 2021 due to his heart attacks and compounding health issues. This has left him unprepared to provide for his burial costs and final arrangements. My father and I are reaching out for help, as this is something we would like not to worry about in his final days. I know Andy has many friends who love him, so we are praying that you can help alleviate that worry for him by donating any amount.
My goal is to post updates every day so that everyone knows what is going on regarding my father, but I’m sure you can imagine how much spare time I have. So, if I’m being realistic, I’m hoping to post updates every few days. Right now, spending time with my dad and letting Leilani be with her “best papa and craziest papa ever!” as she calls him are my top priorities. If she is not right next to me, she can always be found in Papa’s room playing some silly game, making up a crazy song and jokes.
All of your love and support throughout this time is appreciated, and I am so grateful to be able to help my father peacefully through his transition.
