Hello, my name is Andy Guzman. I am 50 years old and have always been a hardworking person, supporting my family and doing my best for those I love. Recently, I was diagnosed with stage 5 kidney disease, and my life has changed dramatically. I am now on dialysis and on the kidney transplant list, hoping for a donor. Since my diagnosis, I lost my job and was denied unemployment benefits, even though I have worked all my life and paid my taxes. I have applied for disability, but waiting for social security has been a struggle.
Despite these challenges, I am staying strong for my grandbabies—my granddaughter is only 1 year old, and my grandson is 3. I also care for my father, who is disabled. I have always been independent and never liked to depend on others, but right now, I don’t know what else to do. The funds raised will help me keep my vehicle and insurance so I can get to my doctor appointments and dialysis, run errands for my dad, and pay some medical bills.
From the bottom of my heart, I appreciate everyone who helps me in this difficult time. Your support will keep my spirit high, and I thank God for giving me the strength I need for my family. Thank you for helping me move forward.
