On February 17th, what started as a normal day quickly turned into a life-changing moment for Andy and his family. While at the gym with his son, Andy’s son noticed something was wrong—Andy’s face began to droop, and his speech became slurred. Acting quickly, he was rushed to the hospital in Springville, NY for evaluation.

After undergoing two CAT scans, doctors made the urgent decision to transport Andy to Buffalo General Hospital for further testing. There, after numerous scans and evaluations, doctors discovered a tumor on Andy’s brain. After careful discussion, the medical team determined that the best course of action was to proceed with surgery to remove the tumor and perform a biopsy.

On February 23rd, Andy underwent brain surgery. The tumor was removed and sent to Roswell Park Cancer Institute for further evaluation. Following surgery, Andy endured a long and difficult three-week stay in the ICU at Buffalo General as he began his recovery.

On March 11th, Andy and his family received devastating news—the biopsy confirmed glioblastoma, an aggressive, grade 4 brain cancer that currently has no cure. Since then, Andy has begun daily chemotherapy and radiation treatments at Roswell. Andy has been given a life expectancy of 15–18 months.

Andy is a devoted husband and father. He and his wife, Kim, have been married for 34 years and have built a close-knit, loving family together. They are the proud parents of two sons, Ryan (26) and Tyler (23), who mean the world to them.

For over 40 years, Andy has worked hard in the automotive industry to provide for his family. Now, as he faces the fight of his life, he is unable to work and is currently on disability. Kim has had to reduce her work hours to part-time to be by Andy’s side and transport him to his daily treatments.

This heartbreaking diagnosis has deeply impacted their entire family. As friends, we are coming together to support Andy, Kim, Ryan, and Tyler during this incredibly difficult time.
