Support Andy Turner's Medical Journey

Our dear friend and the church sexton of First Presbyterian Church of Verona, Andy Turner, has been battling ongoing medical issues since May and has been in and out of the hospital and rehabilitation facilities for many months.

Andy's medical expenses have grown large and will continue to grow larger as he will need nursing care, physical therapy, and continued oversight by his physicians, not to mention potential medical procedures.

As many of you know, Andy celebrated his 60 year anniversary as sexton of the church where his knowledge, kindness, humor and gentle demeanor have been a gift to all who come through the church doors.

Did you know that Andy's history with First Presbyterian Church actually began when he was a child? While playing ball in the yard of the church, a window was broken and Andy took full responsibility for the calamity. It was the beginning of a beautiful lifelong tale!

For years, Andy has taken special pride in serving as proctor and greeter for AA meetings, maintaining the memorial garden, knowing where to find anything and everything in the church and serving as church historian for so many church organizations and events. Just this year a scholarship fund was set up by a long-time friend of Andy's to send a deserving child to camp each summer. The letter from the benefactor read, "..He is an exceptional person, and we have enormous respect and affection for him. We would therefore like to establish the Andrew Turner Scholarship in his honor..."

Andy is truly a pillar of faith and now is the time to return his love in a manner that would be most meaningful for Andy and his family.
