My name is Andy Nowicki. I have published several books, both fiction and nonfiction, but the project I have planned here is quite a bit different than anything I have attempted before.

As a Catholic with an interest in phenomena like miraculous events and apparition sites involving reported appearances of Jesus and the Blessed Virgin Mary, I have read often of places like Lourdes, Fatima, La Salette, and Knock, as well as still disputed but fascinating sites like Medjugorje and Garabandal.

Most, if not all, of the most famous sites of Marian apparitions, miracles, and other reported supernatural events are located in Europe. Yet the fact is that that are numerous approved sites in North America, all of which receive far less acclaim or recognition.

My goal with this project is to write a book which 1) will serve both as a kind of "tour guide" for pilgrims interested in North American sites of apparitions, miracles, and supernatural events, and 2) will serve as a meticulous, studious, yet accessible meditation on the possible roles served by miracles, reported apparitions, and the like in the faith-formation of believers.

To write this book, I intend to travel to various sites of approved sites of Marian apparitions, miracles, and supernatural events across North America, to explore these sites, to speak with those intimately connected to the formation of these sites (including, when at all possible, the seers themselves).

I am attempting to raise funds to defray travel and lodging costs.
