On Wednesday, July 8th, our lives changed in an instant. While walking to work in Rockville Centre, NY, our 24-year-old nephew, Andrew Woram, was struck by a vehicle. Andrew is deeply loved by his family and friends, and in that single moment, everything changed for him and for all of us who love him.
Andrew suffered a severe Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), including a grade 3 diffuse axonal injury (DAI). This devastating injury abruptly put his young adult life on hold and turned our family’s world upside down.
About Andrew
At 24, Andrew was beginning to build the life he worked so hard for and was so excited about.
Andrew graduated from Chaminade High School in 2020 and went on to graduate from Bryant University in 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Finance. After completing his education, Andrew had recently begun building his career as a business funding advisor and was excited about the future he was creating for himself.
Andrew is the kind of person who leaves an impression on everyone he meets. He is known for his quick wit, genuine smile, and his incredible ability to know things most people don’t. He has a deep love for his family and cares tremendously about the people around him. He loves making beats, hanging out with friends, and cheering on the Knicks, and anyone who knows Andrew knows just how much he loves his dog, Willy.
He is hardworking, determined, and full of potential. He had dreams, goals, and an entire future ahead of him.
This accident did not just cause a physical injury. It put all of those dreams on pause.
Our hope is that this pause is only temporary.
We are raising these funds to give Andrew every opportunity and resource possible to recover, rebuild, and one day return to the life and career he loves.
The Road to Recovery
Andrew is a fighter. He is currently at Helen Hayes Neurorecovery Program , where his medical team continues to be impressed by his determination and strength. He is making steady and encouraging progress, particularly in speech therapy, and he is doing wonderfully with his nutrition. Every day, Andrew works through intensive physical therapy and occupational therapy. His progress is hard-earned, and behind every step forward is an incredible amount of courage, effort, and perseverance.
He is also surrounded by the unwavering love of his parents, Joyce and Tom, and his three siblings, Grace, Kevin and Caroline, who have been by his side every step of the way.
However, an injury of this magnitude is a marathon, not a sprint. Andrew faces a minimum eight-week inpatient stay for intensive neurorehabilitation, followed by what we know will be a long road of continued recovery. To ensure he is never alone, his family has displaced their daily lives to be by his bedside 24/7, providing the physical and emotional support he needs to rebuild his life.

Your generosity has reminded us that we are not walking this road alone.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with Andrew, believing in his recovery, and helping us give him the best chance at getting back to the life he loves.
Keep fighting, Andrew. We love you. ❤️
