Hurricane Melissa devasted Jamaica. We all want to help but it's hard to know where to start. It's helpful to start with people you know. For us at Main Street Creamery, it means helping our friend (and everyone's favorite Jamaican ice cream scooper) Andrew Small help his family.
Andrew has three brothers and a nephew who were all severely affected. Two of his brothers live in the mountains. So far there's been no direct communication, but word is that his one brother's farm was totally destroyed. Another brother lives in Brownstown where he has a little roadside store which was totally destroyed by flooding. His nephew lives and works as a chef in Montego Bay. His house was totally destroyed, as was the restaurant where he worked.
The need is great but we think $25,000 is a good starting point. Whatever is collected will be dispensed directly by Andrew and Melody for provisions and rebuilding, as needs are made known. Thank you for helping us bless Andrew by blessing his family in their need.
