We’re reaching out on behalf of Andrew Hoppert, a bright, resilient, and caring soul who is facing a considerable medical procedure. In 2017, Andrew was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis Type 2 (NF2) — a rare genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow along the nerves of the brain and spine.

Recently, Andrew’s condition has progressed, and vestibular schwannomas — benign but dangerous tumors — have developed and begun compressing his 4th ventricle, the vital pathway that carries spinal fluid between the brain stem and spine. This blockage is restricting the flow of cerebrospinal fluid and compressing crucial nerves, putting immense pressure on his brain stem and spinal cord.

To prevent further damage and relieve this dangerous pressure, Andrew requires specialized neurosurgery to remove the right tumor. The procedure is highly complex and must be performed by a skilled surgical team experienced in NF2. Without it, Andrew risks losing more neurological function and facing life-threatening complications.
