Support Andrew Through His Multi-Encephalitis Battle

Hi everyone, my name is Amy, and I’m Andy’s younger sister. Our family is raising funds to support Andy through his recent medical diagnosis, ongoing treatment, and recovery. The funds will help ease the financial burden on his partner and children as they navigate this incredibly difficult time.

Seven weeks ago, Andy was diagnosed with HSV encephalitis and spent several weeks in hospital receiving treatment. He was eventually discharged to continue his recovery at home with medication.

However, just a week later, Andy’s condition rapidly declined, and he was readmitted to hospital. As his symptoms worsened, he was transferred to the neurology ward and then moved to ICU, where he is currently in an induced coma.

After extensive testing, doctors have now confirmed that Andy is suffering from a rare and serious autoimmune condition called Immune Encephalitis, which causes the immune system to attack the brain causing severe inflammation.

On top of this, doctors have discovered other unexpected and challenging diagnoses, making his fight even more difficult.

Anyone who knows Andy knows he has a heart of gold kind, generous, and always putting others first. Seeing him like this is absolutely heartbreaking for all of us who love him.
