Well, where do I start? My father, Andrew Salverson, is my hero and my best friend. Father of 8, stepdad to 2, the strongest man I know. About two months ago, out of the blue, he started losing his balance and was taken to the hospital emergency room. They proceeded to tell him he was going through withdrawal from alcohol because he had mentioned trying to slow down on his drinking. So he was given a b12 shot and was sent home.
About a week after that, it got significantly worse. He started losing movement on his left side and had fallen through his coffee table. So once again, he was rushed to the emergency room. This time, he was left in the waiting room for 17 hours, crying because he had to use the restroom and was unable to walk. He sat in his own urine for hours. Once they finally got to see him and put him through a CAT scan, they discovered that he had 2 tumors in his brain and they had to do a biopsy to determine the type. During that biopsy, my father suffered a stroke and was placed in critical condition. We fought hard to get him better, which he did. He recovered from that with only movement in his right leg. He was left 90% paralyzed. He was diagnosed with 2 high-grade glioblastomas in both his frontal lobes. He decided to fight it and go through with treatments and was able to recover enough to get him into radiation treatments. And after two and a half weeks of treatments they were found to be pointless and has made it progressively worse. He had to make the decision on his own to stop the fight, and he was in comfort care for 3 days. He has unfortunately passed but in his sleep peacefully and painlessly.
We are trying to fulfill his wishes to be buried with his mother and need help. This has all been so sudden. He’s only 55 years old and has had his life cut short without warning. We were not prepared for this. Please help support my father and our family to lay a great man to rest the way he wished to be.
