Support Andrew Phillips' Fight Against Rare Cancer

My name is Kathleen Ringer & I've been lucky to be friends with Andrew Phillips for about 9 years now.We share a love of great music, especially searing blues. Been to many concerts together- Buddy Guy, Kingfish,Joe Bonamassa, Robin Trower... & throw in some Judas Priest. He has always checked on me, especially if I've been quiet too long. We've talked a lot about different challenges as we have walked through them in life. He is a loyal & caring friend.

He has endured multiple painful back surgeries. I texted him to check on progress from last surgery & he told me of a more serious issue- possible infection w/liver involvement- fast forward he has been diagnosed with a rare cancer, Ampullary Carcinoma involving the pancreatic duct, liver & small intestine.his doctor has informed him that it is inoperable.He will be doing chemotherapy to try for more time here on earth past the 3 months he would prob get w/no treatment.

He is currently visiting dear relatives in Boston & his beloved Block Island- against wishes of oncologist. Per Andrew he stated " I can do everything by the book and just be waiting to die… I've decided that I want to live the best I can for as long as I can."

He will come home & have chemo port inserted on 4/1 ( his birthday) & start chemo 4/2.

if you can help with a donation of any size it would be appreciated. He has decent medical insurance, but is on a fixed income. I want my friend to have enough for outings when he is able, items to comfort him, perhaps a concert if he is able, and health needs not covered by insurance. A little bit of money in his pocket to pay for incidentals or special foods that appeal to him.
