Help Bring Andrew Ascencio Home and Cover Funeral Expenses
It is with heavy hearts that we share the devastating news of the sudden passing of Andrew Ascencio, who tragically lost his life in an accident early morning on Friday, June 27th while vacationing in Australia. Andrew was just 29 years old.
Andrew was a beloved brother, a loyal friend, and a bright light to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by his sister, Emilie Ascencio, who is now facing the unimaginable task of bringing her brother home and arranging his final farewell. Sadly, both his mother and father passed away while Andrew was at a young age, now leaving Emilie as the sole survivor of her nuclear family to navigate these arrangements.
Andrew was known for his wit, his kindness, and his unwavering ability to bring a smile to everyone around him. His warmth and humor left a lasting impression on countless lives. Professionally, he was a dedicated lawyer working for the Department of Justice in Washington, DC — a role that reflected his strong desire to spend his life helping others.
The sudden nature of this tragedy, combined with the international circumstances, has brought about significant expenses. We are humbly asking for support to help Emilie cover the costs of transporting Andrew back to the U.S., as well as funeral and memorial expenses. We are currently working on organizing two celebrations of Andrew’s life. His colleagues in Washington, DC are planning a memorial gathering for Sunday, July 13th, and his family will be hosting a celebration of his life in Sonoma, California on August 16th. More details will be shared soon for anyone who would like to attend and help honor his memory.
Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference and help ensure Andrew is remembered with the love, dignity, and care he deserves. If you're unable to donate, sharing this campaign is also greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support during this incredibly difficult time.
