Hello,

My name is Charlie Humphries. Recently, one of my closest friends, Andrew Shaw, lost his mother due to cancer. I was blessed to have met Andrew in fourth grade, getting to grow up together while also getting the opportunity to experience Debra's unconditional love and humor. Debra was one of the kindest, generous, and loving people I have ever met. There was never a moment of hesitation with her when it came to helping or giving back; whether that was through her career researching to find a cure for HIV, donating to organizations she believed in, or even cooking breakfast in the morning after our friends spent the night. She truly was a blessing. I, as well as so many others, will forever be grateful to have had her in our lives.

Despite her never-ending schedule and recurring battle with cancer, she managed to raise Andrew to be one of the most dedicated, hardworking, and driven individuals I have met. Andrew, over the past three years, has managed to create, fund, and run his own window cleaning business. Andrew continues to work even after the recent loss of his mother. Words can't describe how grateful I am to call Andrew a friend and to know I'll have a bond unlike any other for the rest of my life.
