We are reaching out to you in a critical moment for my brother. My brother, Andrés Jesús Reyes, only 15 years old, is facing the toughest battle of his life.

Recently, Andrés was diagnosed with a recurrent craniopharyngioma (a type of brain tumor that has grown back) located in the sellar and suprasellar region. This tumor has caused non-communicating hydrocephalus, a dangerous buildup of fluid in his brain that immediately threatened his life.

Due to the emergency, on March 16, 2026, Andrés had to undergo urgent surgery to have a ventriculoperitoneal shunt (valve) placed to drain the fluid and relieve the pressure in his skull.

The real challenge still lies ahead: Andrés urgently needs a second, complex neurosurgical operation to fully remove the recurrent craniopharyngioma. Without this surgery, the tumor will continue to grow, and the hydrocephalus will return.

As many of you know, the situation of the healthcare system in Venezuela makes highly specialized procedures like this, along with the necessary medical supplies and postoperative hospitalization, extremely expensive and far beyond what we can afford.

What do we need the funds for?

The funds raised will be used exclusively to cover:

• Hospital Expenses: Operating room costs, intensive care, and hospitalization

• Medical Fees: Specialized neurosurgery and anesthesiology team

• Surgical Supplies and Materials: All materials required for such a complex operation

• Postoperative Tests and Medications: CT scans, MRIs, and medications needed for his recovery
