Andres Correa is a young College student at Northwestern University in Chicago. Early this summer, with a group of other students, he began an internship on the Hill. Their internship provides housing through Howard University, and shortly after getting settled in DC, he began attending Bodymass Gym regularly.
Andres is the type of client you love having at the gym. Always ready to work hard, takes direction well and applies it to his next set. When we realized he and Cinthia, another student intern who quickly became a regular at Bodymass, were only here until early August, we were bummed. We love their energy and their passion for fitness.
Friday August 2nd was the final day of their internship. Andres, Cinthia, and two other friends they convinced to come to Bodymass, would be packing up and heading out of DC the next morning. That Friday, as usual, they were heading to Bodymass for their last Build workout. Crossing Georgia Ave, just blocks away from the gym, Andres was hit by a car and suffered serious injuries. He was rushed to the hospital and had to undergo two major surgeons, one orthopedic and one vascular, to his leg. His parents were able to make it to DC and be by his side, but they will all need to stay in DC for an extended period of time as Andres receives continued medical care.
As a community we want to come together and help support Andres and his family.
