Hello, my name is Dannielle and I am fundraising for a dear friend of mine, Andrea Burke. As many of you know, Andrea has been battling/living with polycystic kidney and liver disease (PKD/PLD). For Andrea, PKD/PLD is a genetic mutation and is now considered a hereditary disease. Her kidneys and liver are filled with innumerable cysts and cause frequent pain, discomfort, and occasional hospital visits. While she is receiving care for her kidneys here in Rochester, she is seeking further care for her liver. Since the summer of 2024, her liver has become a concern. She regularly deals with pain and other issues, as her oversized liver is pressing against her ribs, stomach, digestive system, diaphragm, and other organs. After reaching out to the Mayo Clinic, she was able to get an appointment with Dr. Marie Hogan in June 2025. Dr. Hogan is specialized in both of these diseases. Jed and Andrea will be flying out to Minnesota for a week while she’s seen.

In order to get there, Jed and Andrea have a lot of out-of-pocket expenses. The hope is that the Mayo Clinic will provide some options for treatment to relieve the pain and a plan for the future.
