At any moment of interacting with Andrea, you’d never expect such a positive spirit and incredible outlook on life to be paired with one of the most complex medical journeys imaginable.

For nearly 25 years, Andrea has faced relentless medical challenges that began with autoimmune hepatitis at just 15 years old. What started as one diagnosis gradually evolved into end-stage liver disease, cirrhosis, portal hypertension, and a long list of autoimmune and connective tissue conditions that affected nearly every aspect of her health and daily life.

In June 2024, everything changed.

Andrea became critically ill and spent weeks hospitalized after her liver disease rapidly progressed into decompensated end-stage liver failure. She underwent a high-risk TIPS procedure that, against the odds, bought her precious time while doctors searched for a path forward.

Through every setback, Andrea continued to fight with extraordinary grace.

She is a single mother of two, whose greatest joy has always been helping others heal. Before illness forced her to step away from her career, she devoted her life to supporting others through holistic wellness, breathwork, retreats, and energy medicine. Even while carrying unimaginable physical pain, she continued encouraging those around her with compassion, hope, and faith.

After years of uncertainty, prayers were answered.

In January 2026, Andrea received the incredible gift of a living donor liver transplant. Her best friend made the selfless decision to donate a portion of her liver, giving Andrea a second chance at life.

While the transplant saved her life, it was only the beginning of an even more challenging recovery.

The months that followed brought repeated hospitalizations, serious infections, 15+ surgeries and procedures, drains, complications with her bile ducts, countless imaging studies, biopsies, medications, and ongoing transplant care. Recovery has required remarkable strength and perseverance, and she continues to face lifelong medical challenges while adjusting to life with a transplanted organ.

Today, Andrea remains unable to return to work and continues to depend on frequent appointments with her transplant team, lifelong immunosuppressive medications, and specialized medical care. Alongside transplant recovery, she continues living with multiple autoimmune and connective tissue disorders that make everyday life unpredictable.

As if the medical journey weren’t enough, Andrea is also navigating significant personal hardships while trying to rebuild her life. She is working toward finding safe, stable housing, managing mounting debt accumulated during years of illness, and creating an environment where she can continue healing physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Anyone who knows Andrea knows she has never been someone who asks for help. She has always been the person offering it.

Now, after spending years fighting simply to stay alive, she is learning to receive the same kindness she has so freely given to others.
