One thing that everyone knows about Andrea and her husband Eric is that they are an incredibly hard-working couple. When they aren’t at one of their several jobs, they are reaching out and being incredibly generous with their friends and loved ones. This is why I’m compelled to play a part in helping them while they’re in a moment of need.
On July 8, 2024 Andrea reached out to let me know that she was being transferred to Maine Medical Center because what she had thought was an ear infection or a migraine was actually… a mass on her brain! One very scary week later, she has endured emergency surgery, two extra days in the hospital for PT, and is recovering at her parents’ house while waiting for biopsy results.
Unfortunately, both Andrea’s and Eric’s jobs do not have PTO nor paid sick leave, so while they are thankful for their health insurance covering the medical side of things, the rest of their bills are starting to pile up. In particular, they live in seasonal housing. The reduction in cost over the summer usually lets them get ahead on the more expensive winter housing, but now they find themselves concerned about how they will make their deposits before the end of August.
$5,000 would cover the deposit as well as September’s rent, with a small amount left over for things like prepaid phone minutes and groceries.
