Support Andrea Maxon's Fight Against Lupus

Donation protected
Andrea Maxon is in need of our help! A year ago Andrea was diagnosed with lupus. “Lupus is a disease that occurs when your body's immune system attacks your own tissues and organs (autoimmune disease). Inflammation caused by lupus can affect many different body systems — including your joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart and lungs.” Since diagnosed Andrea has faced a variety of health problems, including most recently undergoing surgery on her liver as a result of the lupus which caused advanced cirrhosis of her liver. At this time Andrea is anticipating more surgery’s to address the condition of her liver.
Andrea is a graduate of Utica university, where she received her degree in Occupational Therapy in 2011, and also was a member of the women’s ice hockey team from 2005-2009.
Andrea has dedicated the last 13 years of her life to helping others as an occupational therapist, and is now in need herself. With her condition worsening and recent surgery, medical bills as well as inability to work have left her and her family with financial strain! Hoping to rally the Utica University collegiate sports community and therapy community in order to provide Andrea “maxi” with support and prayers, anything will help reduce the overwhelming stress and uncertainty she faces in the future! Any financial support and prayers donated are greatly appreciated!!
