Support Andi's Fight Against Leukemia

Donation protected
I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my sister and brother in law, Niki and Carter McGary. Carter has provided the following message to help explain their need, and we will be updating often as Andi progresses through her treatment.
It is with great difficulty that we share some heartbreaking news.

What seemed to be typical, mild symptoms led us to take Anderson to the urgent care - everyone from her mother to her schoolteachers could tell something was off. She received a myriad of tests, including bloodwork, and we were admitted to Nationwide Children's Hospital that night.

On Saturday, January 13, we sat in shock as the doctor told us Anderson was diagnosed with Leukemia. That same child that was having a normal 6-year-old experience, is now a child with cancer. Anderson is a bright, fun-loving, bundle of joy who loves to laugh and loves to play, and just like that, she'll be confined to a marathon journey of treatment and medicine.

Andi's specific diagnosis is B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Although rare, ALL is the most common form of pediatric cancer. Thanks to incredible developments in modern medical practice, nearly all children (95%+) make a full recovery and live a healthy life. But no matter how high the success rates, it is a terrifying experience to learn that your child has been diagnosed with this disease and must undergo chemo treatments to be cured. Under the current diagnosis, the path to recovery is about 2 and a half years - a large chunk of her formative childhood.
Andi has a big, loving family including 2 older sisters, Sophie (13) and Lexi (15) who she looks up to all the time. Many hospital visits and stays for Andi lay ahead, and we'll be navigating the logistics of getting all the siblings to where they need to go to try to live their regular lives. In the middle of all that running around, we're a family that truly appreciates eating dinner together at the table, turning off the lights and having a movie night with some popcorn, or maybe playing some games together - we're very much looking forward to getting back to that. Positive energy, thoughts, and prayers are very much needed and appreciated.

Many have asked how they could help. We'll use this platform to detail out many of the things we're dealing with and where assistance can be given - the first piece is helping to relieve our financial pressure as Niki stops working so she can focus on the love and support Andi needs during treatment, healing, and recovery. Truly, we are endlessly grateful for any assistance you put forward.

We appreciate you taking the time to read this and being a part of our journey, small or large. If you are unable to donate, please considering sharing.
