Hello all,
Thank you for stopping by my page. For those unfamiliar with my story, my name is Andin Fosam and I have my sights set on competing for Team USA as a Bobsled athlete at the 2026 Winter Olympics! While it will require tremendous effort, I will reach this goal with your help.
Last August, I (quite spontaneously) traveled to Park City, Utah to compete in a combine to assess my athletic ability, in hopes of trying out for Team USA Bobsled and Skeleton. My effort there earned me an invitation to a week-long turned month-long developmental camp to learn fundamental sport-specific skills. Since then, I have been catapulted into the sport in the best way possible. I went from not knowing the sport existed to earning a 5th place medal at my first international competition as a Team USA Bobsled Athlete!
More so, I am simultaneously a full-time MD-PhD student at the Yale School of Medicine MD-PhD Program. I am working towards a PhD studying metabolic adaptations to exercise after invasive surgery. This ongoing work has been recognized and shared nationally and internationally. My current academic work and my athletic pursuits beautifully merge to create a foundation for my overarching career goal to become an orthopedic surgeon-scientist.
I have gained significant momentum and can see myself achieving the highest levels of success in both areas. More importantly, my experience serves as representation for all of the young people who aspire pursue their dreams without inhibitions. I intend to be that source of inspiration and support in every way possible.
I am a Team USA Bobsled Athlete a year away from the 2026 Olympics and I am doing everything in my power to get there. I have immense gratitude for my community of family, friends, mentors, and colleagues who unconditionally support me in my many endeavors (including this one)! I cannot sustain this goal alone and am asking for your support.
First and foremost, words of encouragement and prayers will always be crucial throughout this journey. Thank you for being in my corner.
I am a completely unfunded athlete in one of the most expensive sports in the world and my student budget is stretched quite thin. I need financial resources for travel, accommodations, race fees, as well as quality equipment that will ensure my safety as we reach top speeds and pressures going down the track.
Further, success is rooted in comprehensive preparation. My experience as a NCAA Division 1 Hammer Thrower primarily built skills in maximal strength and power. While these skills are essential in Bobsled, speed is equally (if not more so) critical. Leading up to the Olympic trials this August, I am focusing on speed specific training, which requires coaching/programming, training gear/equipment, and nutritional support. Support in these areas will help me train and perform at my highest potential, giving me the best chance to succeed.
More than anything, I am immensely humbled and proud to represent my family, school, and country in such unique ways. The 2026 Olympics is a huge goal and one that will require exceptional balance, intention, perseverance, and support to attain. I fiercely believe that I can get there and I would love for you to be a part of this journey.
Please email me using the contact link if you'd like to hear more of my story.
Thank you sincerely for your generosity. I cannot do this without you!
