Help My Mom Live Her Final Months to the Fullest
Hi, I’m Andie, and I’m writing with a heavy heart to share that my mom has been diagnosed with stage four colon cancer. She’s agreed to try chemotherapy, but the truth is, it will only extend her life. According to her oncologist, the future isn’t looking bright, and the reality is that she will need to be on chemo for the rest of her life.
My mom is a woman of faith, and she has found a steadfast community in her church. They are praying for a miracle. I am hoping for one.
Right now, my top priority is ensuring my mom feels loved and supported, and that she’s able to live her life to the fullest during the time she has left. I’m also focusing on making sure she feels comfortable and has the ability to check off the things on her bucket list that will bring her joy.
What I’m Asking For: I’m hoping to raise $3,000 as quickly as possible to help make these things happen. My mom deserves to experience these moments without the weight of financial stress. This money will go toward fulfilling her dreams and making sure her last months are filled with love, joy, and peace.
Here’s what your donations will go toward:
- A Special Seven-Course Meal: We want to treat her to a once-in-a-lifetime meal at a fancy restaurant.
- Murder Mystery Dinner: A fun night out with intrigue and laughter.
- Petting a Baby Big Cat: One of her dreams is to pet a baby lion or tiger. I don't know if this is possible, but ChatGPT said it would cost about $150.
- Completing a 1,000-Piece Puzzle: A relaxing activity we can do together.
- Seeing the Musical Cats: A show she’s always wanted to see.
- Taking a Self-Defense Class: A chance for her to feel empowered and confident.
- Becoming an Ordained Minister: Fulfilling a spiritual dream that’s always been close to her heart.
- Karaoke Night: A private karaoke room so she can sing her heart out with loved ones.
- Fun Hair Colors and Wigs: A way for her to express herself and have some fun with her look.
- Pentatonix Concert: A concert to see her favorite a cappella group live.
- Learning to Play Bunko and Zonk: Simple, fun games to share with family and friends.
- Recording Her Life Stories: Capturing her memories and wisdom to pass down to future generations.
- A Laptop and WiFi: To help her connect with the world, pursue her art, and stay engaged. As far as I know, she has never had a laptop of her own, and she has just been dealing without WiFi.
- Art Supplies: My mom is an incredibly talented artist, but she hasn’t been able to paint much because art supplies aren’t cheap. This will help her create again.
Why This Matters: This is about so much more than ticking items off a list—it’s about giving my mom the chance to feel truly loved, valued, and at peace as she faces this challenge. Your donation, whether large or small, will make a huge impact in helping us create memories that will last a lifetime. It will also lift the weight of financial worry, allowing us to focus on spending quality time together.
Thank you so much for your kindness, support, and generosity. Every little bit helps, and I’m so grateful for anyone who can help us make my mom’s final months as full and joyful as possible.
With all my love,
Andie
