On Thursday, March 31, An-Deiss and her family lost their apartment due to a flood. A pipe burst which caused her and her family to lose most of their belongings. Although they have renter's insurance and have filed a claim, this only covers the material items they have lost. Their renter's insurance does NOT cover the costs of moving to a new residence. They are temporarily in a hotel, but they need a permanent place to live. They were not prepared to move, and with the current cost of rent and high move-in expenses, they are struggling to make it work. An-Deiss and her family are still grieving the loss of their son Cael, who was born sleeping in November 2021. Being displaced from their home has added significant stress to this family as they heal from their recent loss and try to find stability.
