Hi, my name is Jennifer and am supporting Belinda Yesutor, the second runner up for the just ended Top Intern Season 2 on TV3 to raise funds, train and support persons who are differently abled in making leather slippers and sandals. Yesutor says, " with the deep conversations I have had with differently abled people, they are enthusiastic and always ready to drive change in their small corners and make a good living. Technology and industrialization is taking over the world now and it's time to push Hope for Disabled leather works, a growing business that is into leather craft. It's time to make a difference and take more people off the streets especially differently abled people".
Joseph, who was born differently abled, says his life feels like a sloth most often. He felt stagnant in his wheelchair which affected him emotionally until he developed the love for leather works which gives him fulfillment and accomplishment now.
This will further help provide employment opportunities for other individuals with disabilities in the leather industry.
- *Skill Development*: Offer training and skill development programs in leather craftsmanship.
- *Inclusivity*: Promote a culture of inclusivity and diversity in the workplace.
- *Sustainability*: Ensure the long-term sustainability of the project through effective management and marketing strategies.
This is very important to me as it will help give confidence to the persons who are differently abled and give them the assurance that disability is not inability.
The funds will be used for trainings, feeding, production and purchasing of tools and equipment for the leather craft, marketing and a good face lift of the production space.
