Support for Sweet Amelia

Friends and family of the Killian/Buchanan-Mack families are seeking support, strength and prayers for 8-year old Amelia, who perished in a car accident while riding with her family to celebrate the holidays. While the entire family sustained injuries, Amelia was airlifted from the scene with extensive damage to her spine, neck, and brain, tragically succumbing to these injuries on Christmas Day.

 

Words cannot express the tenacity with which Amelia fought for her life with her family by her side. And while her spirit has left her physical body, Amelia will live on within others through the miracle of organ donations.

 

The light of the lives of her parents, family and friends, Amelia (quite literally) danced into the heart of everyone she came in contact with. If you knew Amelia, you are aware of her infectious laughter, faithful nature, and bright smile. If you had not met Amelia, you can imagine her as a mini-mom to her 2 younger brothers, Wyatt and Charlie, a star on the dance recital stage, a little animal lover who rode horseback aspired to be a veterinarian when she grew up. So much more than 'gone too soon,' Amelia's absence will reverberate in every setting she loved to be in: playing with her dolls in her bedroom, learning in her classroom, listening in church, dancing with her friends, on her monthly date night with her dad, Michael and being held in her mom Shelley's embrace. Just like her Daddy’s nickname for her, Amelia and everything that surrounded her was just beautiful.

 

While we type this through tears, the financial hardship facing the Killian-Mack family devastates due to the complex nature of Amelia's injuries. The below has been created in response to family and friends that have offered support though any means, while the family mourns and make arrangements for Amelia's final resting place.
