On February 22, 2019, Dwight Edmeade was severely injured in a dirt bike accident on the Caribbean island of St. Kitts, resulting in a separated pelvis, ligament and tendon tears, and spinal bruising. Dwight is currently bedridden at J.N.F. Hospital. After consulting with numerous overseas surgeons, the prognosis is that surgery is required to position a titanium plate that will allow him mobility again. Thankfully, we have recently learned that there is a new clinic in Nevis, Rejunoviva Medical Clinic, with a team of US doctors that can perform the surgery, so Dwight will not need to travel to the US or Trinidad. That said, the estimated cost of the surgery is $27,500 USD. Funds are needed for the surgery as as well as to support Dwight's family while he is unable to work (for approximately 6-12 months). Support is needed urgently as the surgery is March 22. There is a long road of recovery ahead for Dwight, including extensive and costly physical therapy.
