Support and love for Baby Cain

Hello to those of you reading this (bear with me as this is all new to me)! I just want to introduce myself, my name is Amanda Metzler (Mandi) and I as well as the rest of the Metzlers Family have known Alicia (or maybe you know her as Talucci) and her family for many years as she was a former athlete of Metzlers Gymnastics. As many of you know Alicia has been coaching at Metzlers Gym part time for over a year. When we all were told the news that her and Jimmy were expecting everyone was overjoyed and couldn’t wait to plan the gender reveal at the gym.

It wasn’t until the anatomy scan that they received the worst news any parent could hear. At 22 weeks the baby was diagnosed with anencephaly, a rare and fatal birth defect where the brain and skull do not develop properly. Babies with this defect are stillborn or pass away shortly after birth. It was because of this and the risks to Alicia’s health by carrying the baby to term, they made the impossible decision to induce labor on October 14th.

Unfortunately, the insurance company is refusing to pay any of these medical bills being she is not choosing to carry the baby full term. In addition to these medical bills, they also would love to give their baby a proper burial but being a newly married couple, excited to start a family together and having to now deal with this loss and financial burden can make a terrible situation worse.

Many at the gym have asked how they can help and have been praying and Alicia and Jimmy can not thank everyone enough. We discussed creating this page and we have permission from Alicia and Jimmy to start this fund and all donations will go directly to them. We hope that whatever funds raised on here can help ease this financial burden of these unforeseen expenses.
