I usually don’t do things like this, especially coming from a strong Mexican family. Some of you know me, but I am from a very small town in the Central Valley. It was never easy having a single mom, moving house to house, having three older brothers, or having so many disabilities none of us knew about or would even have liked to talk about. Graduating during Covid and getting into UC Berkeley should’ve been the time of my life. But that time was one of the hardest that I can even think of. I was able to meet someone who changed my life and I studied the Bible. But that didn’t make all my problems go away. I’ve been diagnosed with bipolar II, a hormonal condition called PMDD, fibromyalgia (which is a chronic pain condition that causes me to need two wheelchairs and a cane in order to go about my daily life outside of my home), ADHD (which seems so simple, but deeply affects my behavior and my state of mind), and depression (even with bipolar medicine, people can still be depressed). When I first got diagnosed, all I knew how to do was take care of myself. One of the biggest challenges I ever had to overcome was allowing people to help me. I finally got to move back home, but even then, problems still don’t just vanish. I still get severe allergic reactions to medicine as I try to get better. I still have severe allergic reactions to most food, making it extremely difficult to have a normal kind of life. I have to go above and beyond even while I’m still in school, trying to still think about my future.

Right now, I am trying to get as much special and natural supplements, medicine, superfoods, and red light therapy equipment, among other things (you’re more than welcome to research that these things do help when fighting chronic illness) to do my best in getting better.
I do believe God will help me get better, but this is all a team effort; nothing will happen with a snap of His finger. God expects for me to do the work for me to get better day by day, and this is part of it.
“When he heard this, he said, ‘This sickness will not end in death for Lazarus, but will bring glory and praise to God.’
