Support and Aid for Aubrey Houdeshell

Hi to those who are reading this,

For many of us in the niche corner of the internet that deals with publishing, tarot, astrology, etc, there is a strong likelihood that we have had a personal connection to Aubrey. In the last many years, Aubrey has been the primary caretaker and support system for her father as he has battled cancer and gone through several treatments. We have watched day in and day out as she has done what she can to support her father through this journey. Most recently, as of January 29th, her father was given only a few months left to live.

Aubrey is a small business owner, who has constantly supported others through their hardships. I know that being a full-time self-employed person, the primary financial support in her life, and a full-time caretaker has probably taken its toll. The purpose of this GoFundMe is to help Aubrey step back from her work so that she can properly spend the she has left with her dad as he comes closer to the end of his journey. The goal is to cover expenses like rent, food, gas, utilities, etc. for the next few months and take that burden off of her. It is hard to grieve and enjoy the little moments when you continually need to show up in the world and are forced to make ends meet.

From a personal perspective, Aubrey has been one of the greatest cheerleaders in tarot/witchy/astrology communities. I have watched as she has uplifted others, supported their work, and taken time to build lasting relationships. She has donated much of her time to people who needed it and has worked hard to live in her values of collaboration. Her commitment to her community is one of the things I admire most about Aubrey, and my hope is that we, as the community, can show her our commitment in return. As I mentioned, she is her own main source of financial support and is self-employed. This goal of $8k is to help lessen the burden so that she can focus on spending time with her dad and not have to worry.

I understand that everyone's financial situation can be tough, but if you can't donate, please share if possible. Anything helps and can allow Aubrey to effectively have the time she needs with her family.
