Support Building Anatasia’s Survival Swim School

In 2005, Conner William and Devin Jaqueline Dewald were just 2 weeks away from their 2nd birthday when they both drowned while at their licensed daycare. My best friend, Anatasia Dewald, was just a few blocks away at work when she heard sirens and a helicopter and thought, “I hope that person is okay”. Little did she know that the phone call she would receive was that the babies she had just dropped off at daycare were now both gone and those sirens were for them. To say she and her husband were devastated would be an understatement. In the face of such a horrific event, she was able to pick herself back up and vow to try to prevent any parent from ever experiencing what she had. She decided to become an Infant Swimming Resource instructor.

In Feb. 2008, she started teaching survival swim lessons to children as well as holding down a full-time job. She rented hotel pools, asked friends to borrow their pool so she could teach. Fast forward and she is now out on her own and has been able to teach over 3,000 children to save themselves in case of a water incident.

She purchased a home in Belton, TX and built a pool to teach in. Belton shut her down. Again, she got back up and sold her main home to purchase a new commercial location in Nolanville, TX. The project currently is fighting through city delays and unforeseen costs. She could really use a little help so we can open a permanent location for Squiddles Survival Swim School.
