In May of 2024 my daughter Anastascia fell ill on a marine biology trip with her school. She's always been very active inside and outside of school. She's currently a senior and has missed out a great deal on her senior year due to being chronically ill. Her quality of life as well as her mental health have suffered greatly as she dreads the day to day symptoms from the unknown illness.

Over the last year she's seen countless doctors and specialist who are trying to pin down the cause. She's currently seeing cardiology, a gastrointestinal specialist and non-op spine, she has been referred to GYN for worrisome findings on recent CT and has not scheduled due to not having the ability to pay for the appointment and ultrasound needed to confirm the CT findings.

Anastascia lost health insurance coverage recently and has since accrued $4000 in medical debt and has more appointments and testing coming up that she cannot afford to miss. She's barely been able to cover the good-faith copays for the visits as she's being seen roughly 2 or 3 times a week. I have been contributing financially as much as I can.

Anastascia is attempting to obtain insurance with no luck so far and at 18 years old the last thing I want her to have to worry about is going into debt just so she can try and have a normal life. She has worked part time ever since she was 15 and continues to try do so on top of trying to finish her senior year despite being out 3 or more days a week due to her chronic illness. Any little bit will help and 100% of donations will go to her current bills at MU and Boone and all upcoming appointments and imaging needed.

Update 5/25/2025

Anastascia was recently hospitalized and diagnosed with POTS, Orthostatic Hypotension, and hypoxemia, in addition to her existing fibromyalgia—all linked to nervous system dysfunction. These chronic, incurable conditions have severely impacted her daily life, and current treatments are ineffective. She has taken a leave from work after graduating to focus on her health. Medical expenses have quickly surpassed our $6,000 fundraising goal. Anastascia continues to seek answers through new specialists and appreciates the ongoing support as she faces her ongoing health challenges. All medical costs are still currently being paid out of pocket due to an ongoing struggle to obtain health insurance.
