My name is Anas Jnena, a Palestinian teacher from Gaza who, by chance, had left for Kuwait just five months before October 2023. There were moments during the war when I desperately wanted to return, to simply be there with my family in the middle of everything. But I came to believe that being outside Gaza was not an accident. It gave me the ability to be their financial  lifeline from afar.

And that is what I have been for over two years now, by the grace of God.

On November 7th, 2023, I lost my father when our home was leveled to the ground. My brother, Ahmed, was also injured. And my family, like so many others in Gaza, has since been trying to survive what most of us cannot fully put into words. Along the way, I have been incredibly fortunate to have had the support of wonderful friends and people who believed in helping, and together we have kept my family going.

But the pressure has become more than I can carry alone. I am struggling to support them - and, at times, even myself.

What makes it feel even more urgent is my sister, Abrar. She passed her high school exams in the middle of a war, something that took a kind of strength I deeply admire, and has now begun studying psychology at Al-Azhar university. She is choosing a future even when the present is this hard.

That’s why I’m hoping to raise $5000; enough to support my family for 5 to 7 months. The money will go to their basic needs, primarily food, and to Abrar's tuition and university books.
