A Second Chance at Life
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,
I am writing this to support Ana Salvador, on her journey after recently receiving a life-saving liver transplant. Ana has been battling end-stage liver failure due to a rare hereditary disease. Her family's lives changed quickly when they learned that her liver was no longer functioning and she needed to undergo a transplant to ensure that she survived. Before the transplant, Ana was met with agonizing pain both physically and mentally. She was in and out of the hospital for months on end with life-threatening infections and chances of not surviving. Although she was home on bed rest, she was unable to walk, sleep, or do a majority of day-to-day activities. Amongst severe pain was the stress and anxiety that a donor would never come. Nonetheless, the family held onto hope and through that strength finally came the chance for a new liver.
Now, Ana has her new liver and although the family has a new chapter to this journey, there is the unfortunate burden of expensive medical bills, post-transplant care, travel nurses, and the endless hospital visits. The first year will be the most stressful and excruciating for them as the risk of the liver rejecting, serious infection, or severe complications is the highest.
If anyone knows Ana, she is the strongest person we all know. She has taken this near-death challenge and pushes every single day for her children and her husband. Ana has always put everyone else above herself. She has made immense sacrifices throughout each and every year of their lives. If there is anyone more deserving of this, it is Ana. There is no one with a bigger heart than her.
This battle isn’t over, but with your support, we can make sure she and her family heal with peace of mind.
Thank you so much. We appreciate your time and efforts.
