Support an Islamic school in Kenya
Donation protected
Our family ( family of Late Abdulshakur Mamdani ) currently manages the funds and resources for an Islamic school (Madrassah) in Tiwi, which is a small town on the south coast of Mombasa, Kenya.
In the early 1980's, the mosque was found and built by some well wishes. Our beloved uncle, Mansur Mamdani later took it upon himself to overlook the mosque with great care as a number of homeless children including numerous orphans came to learn and find refuge at this special place. After our beloved and dear uncle passed away, the Mamdani family has been maintaining the madrasa in order to continue his legacy and ensuring these children are taken care of.
Currently, the perimeters of the madrasa are falling with broken windows and doors, roof leaks and weak foundation.
The madrasa has over 300 students with only 6 Islamic teachers (ustadhs)who teach Islamic studies there. Accommodating all these students is getting very tight as the number of students are increasing. Most of these kids are now taught in the outdoors due to lack of space in the masjid.
We are in dire need of funds to help give these children a more comfortable place to learn and also to provide food, clothing and clean water.
As the saying goes, ' drop by drop the water pot is filled’, likewise, every penny can count towards this cause. It is our sincere request to help us in providing the basic necessities for these kids.
