The goal of this GoFundMe campaign is to assist one immigrant Latina family in Minnesota to pay their March rent.

I'm a Multilingual Learner (ESL) Teacher at a public charter school in St. Paul, MN. I work with high school students who have recently immigrated to the US, mostly from Central America and Mexico. Most of my students and their families are undocumented and thus have been greatly affected by the federal immigration enforcement "surge" in our state over the last 3 months. Most of the adults in these families have been unable to work during these months due to fear of arrest and have relied on friends and caring strangers to cover living costs.

The family of Selena, one of my high school students, is in particular need. Selena lives with her older sister Sofia and Sofia's husband, Juan, and their 3 small children (ages 2, 4, and 7). The family immigrated from the Mexican state of Guerrero, a region greatly impacted by violence from the drug wars. They have pending asylum cases in US immigration court. However, due to the feds' surge in Minnesota, they have been unable to work for over 2 months. While they've received food donations and some support from our school's rent assistance fund for their February rent, those funds have been exhausted.

I would greatly appreciate your support to assist Selena's family in paying their March rent bill of $1,150. Your generous solidarity in this great time of need will help this immigrant family weather this "financial storm" without fear of separation!
