Support an FGLI MHC Student's Grad School Journey

Hi Mount Holyoke College community! My name is Caroline and I am fundraising on behalf of a dear friend who has asked to remain anonymous.

My friend is graduating this May and has a spot lined up at a prestigious grad school as well as a job in the Boston area. They have a lease lined up, but are struggling to put down their deposit for first and last month's rent. This amount totals $2,800. They were hesitant to ask for community support but have struggled to make up the difference in the very short amount of time between when they were made aware of this cost and when they have to pay it. The payment is due Tuesday May 13. If they cannot make this goal they will be without stable housing.

They are an FGLI TGNC student who has gotten zero family support throughout their entire time at college and has been reliant on MHC resources like scholarships and the safety net fund. Because they have had to pay for school independently, they have little in savings and asked for help in reaching out to our community.

They have been an extremely involved member of the MHC community, having served on many student orgs, been a vocal advocate for queer students and FGLI students on campus, and a dedicated student worker throughout their four years here.
