Support an entirely college student run musical
Donation protected
My name is Isaac Rubin, I am a senior at Hampshire College studying so many things, but I'm really focused on how people play.
My Hampshire College Capstone project will go into depth on this subject. As part of the project I am directing the first musical preformed at my school in four years.
It's my belief that live performance is something most people would consider to be play when looking in from the outside, but I suspect that the designers, actors and production team view it as something far closer to work throughout the majority of the project, to this end directing a show of this scale will further my research significantly.
Now about the show:
"The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals" is a horror/comedy homage to B grade horror movies of the 80's and 90's. The team consists entirely of students: not just actors and stage hands, but also live musicians, practical effects artists, and dancers performing original choreography.
We are working hard to bring this vision to life while being frugal with funds. But a project of this scale requires more money than we currently have available. Every dollar we raise in this fundraiser will go to improving the quality of the effects, the costumes and the sets in order to not just bring our vision to life but to transport the audience!
The show will run from Jan 30th, 31st and Feb 1st from 7:30 to 9:30 and Feb 2nd from 2:30 to 4:30!
All funds not used for the show will be donated to the theater program!
Thank you in advance for your support!
