Hi friends and kind strangers,

My name is Naomi, and I’m organizing this fundraiser for my friend Julie, who recently lost her car due to the devastating floods from Hurricane Helene in Asheville, North Carolina. Her car was at the repair shop, parked near the river when the flooding hit, and unfortunately, it's now a total loss.

Julie is an artist and framer; if you've met her, you'll know she's the kind of person who puts her whole self into any task when asked. We've worked together for many years, and I've known her even longer. Since the flood, she's been tirelessly supporting volunteer relief efforts in Asheville—doing everything she can on foot or by bicycle—but now she finds herself in a tough spot. She needs reliable transportation. Asking for help is deeply uncomfortable for her, but without a car, she won't be able to continue her work in the community or begin to recover from this challenging event.

The funds raised will go directly toward purchasing a reliable car for Julie so she can continue helping others and manage her day-to-day needs. The money raised will be used to cover the cost of a new used vehicle, registration, and any related fees or taxes, ensuring that it’s ready for her to use as soon as possible.
