Many of you will know Amy & her Husband Alex as a couple of the kindest people you will ever meet always putting their hands up to help others but never asking them selfs.
Now I am going to ask for them because my favourite person in the world needs all the support she can get and would never ask for it her self.
A little over 2 years ago Amy started developing further unexplained health issues on top of her already digagnosed two chronic illnesses Endomitriosis and Intracranial Hypertension.
In the beginning everyone was baffled as Amy's condition worsened she was eventually diagnosed with a Sever and rare case of Trigeminal Neuralgia along with suspected SUNCT/SUNA Disorder. And to make matters even harder Amy has been unresponsive to commonly used medications to manage the disease.
TN ( Trigeminal Neuralgia ) is Regarded as one of the most painful diseases known in the medical field and is commonly referred to as " The Suicide Disease" due to the unpredictable bouts of severe pain that makes just existing and every day tasks unbearable.
You can learn more about TN here: https://tnaaustralia.org.au
Over the past year Amy's condition has become so sever that she can hardly work or socialise and when she does she pays for it with excruciating flares of pain that only her husband, family & closet friends witness that will often land her in hospital or at the least unable to leave her room. When at her worst Amy is unable to eat or drink (needing IV hydration) and she often isn't even able to talk due to the pain. Even on Amy's best days, she is unable to even enter a room if a fan or air-conditioning is running or even stand near someone wearing perfume as it can cause a flare.
This week after 2 years of seeking help and every other treatment option proving ineffective to help, Amy is undergoing a risky and painful brain surgey to try to regain her life and alleviate the unbearable pain. Although Amy has the most talented and incredible Neurosurgeon there are no guarantees on the out come of this surgery - but there is hope.
In the event of a successful surgery Amy still will have quite a recovery ahead of her. This is where you can help. Amy has been on a reduced to no income for over a year now thanks to this disease robbing her ability to work her much loved role as a Disability Service Coordinator. Her Husband Alex runs his own Gardening business so he will be left with the choice of being at the hospital to support his wife or earn an income to keep a roof over there heads. Something no Husband should have to choose between.
I would like to help raise some money to help ease that burden so Alex can support Amy's recovery and so that Amy won't be pressured to return to work before she is ready. I also hope to raise enough to cover Amy's out of pocket medical expenses.
Although private health covers a large portion of the surgery there is still many out of pocket fees that need to be paid aswell.
Amy has dedicated her whole adult life to supporting and advocating for those with disabilities now she is facing her own. I pleed with anyone who knows this incredible lady to donate to help her get her life back so she can continue doing what she does best. Litterly every cent will help.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Even if you cannot afford to donate please please share this page.
Much love, Chloe x
