Support Amy's Recovery After Severe Car Accident

Donation protected
On October 28th at about 6:30 in the morning, Amy was involved in a near-fatal car accident. Thankfully, her son Michael was not in the car with her at the time. Only by the grace of God did she survive, as told to her by every first responder/doctor she saw from start to finish. Amy was taken to ORMC due to the nature of her injuries. After a multitude of tests, she learned she fractured her lower spine. Neurosurgery was consulted, but fortunately, it was determined she did not need immediate surgery. Amy was fitted with a back brace and will have to wear it continuously for an unknown amount of time. She also may have to endure an outpatient surgery in the near future due to an injury the seatbelt caused.

After 12 hours in the ER, Amy is home and resting. Aside from the horrible pain in her back and chest from the seatbelt, Amy is trying to deal with the trauma of the accident. Right now she's unable to care for herself and for Michael, having to rely on others for her basic needs. Recently, Amy started a new job....one that doesn't pay you if you aren't working. She also hasn't been there long enough to have earned any vacation or sick time. Right now she has no idea when she'll be able to return to work. Follow up with an Orthopedist isn't for a couple of weeks. Amy may have many months of physical therapy to complete before being cleared to go back to a normal life.

Amy has never been one to ask for help. She's as strong as they come and always finds a way to persevere. She's always the one to offer help to her friends and family, not expecting anything in return. Right now, though, I think she could really use OUR help. The idea of not having an income for an unknown amount of time, the inability to care for your son and yourself, pending medical bills, and a totaled car, is so scary. I want to alleviate that fear for her while she focuses on healing herself. If you're able to donate, it would be so appreciated.
