Hello, my name is Amy,
I’m reaching out today with a humble heart, seeking support to navigate an incredibly difficult chapter of my life.
In August of 2023 I received a diagnosis that changed everything Fibromyalgia. My Life was turned upside down.
I already suffered from Generalized Anxiety Disorder which has become worse since fighting for my Disability Benefits.
Each day is now a struggle, marked by unrelenting pain that has left me unable to work.
Currently, I rely on Medicaid, which covers the majority of my medical expenses. My Rheumatologist does not accept Medicaid, so I have to pay her out of pocket. I do so because when I first got sick she was the only doctor who would listen to me and did the appropriate testing, as well as refer me to the specialist that I need to see.
I have applied for SNAP and PIPP (electricity bill help). I’m awaiting a decision. SNAP does not cover every day essentials like hygiene products, laundry products and paper products.
My only constant has been my beloved cat, who’s been by my side through every twist and turn of this illness. While he’s a lifeline for my emotional wellbeing, I am unable to afford his basic needs like food, litter, and veterinary care.
I’ve exhausted all avenues for help, yet without minor children or additional sources of income, the assistance available is limited. Navigating the lengthy disability process has also been challenging, as I’m restricted to a very low monthly income that I budget from my savings. My savings is gone.
My Attorney has filed an appeal with the Appeals Council Review. This marks my third year fighting for my Disability Benefits
Any support you can offer would mean the world to me. Donations will go directly to housing, essential bills, medical expenses, and everyday needs. My Rent is $1,457.00 a month. I only need to cover May and June’s Rent.
I will have to vacate my apartment no later than June 26, 2026 because I no longer have a Guarantor/Co-Signer. My Guarantor/Co-Signer was my dad and he passed away on January 8, 2026. Another reason is I no longer have the funds to pay the rent. Currently working with government agencies to find housing.
Your generosity and kindness could be a lifeline as I seek stability and relief in this challenging time.
Thank you for considering my story.
With my deepest gratitude,
Amy Hostetter
