In life, we are always told to prepare for the unexpected but there are some things in life that no matter the preparations, can turn our world upside down. And yet regardless, we are expected to ride the furious waves of this storm, head held high as we navigate our way back to calm shores.
Amy & Paul began this journey over a year ago when Amy was first diagnosed with leukemia. They had to put their engagement plans on hold and travel to Houston to MD Anderson so Amy could undergo an array of testing, aggressive chemotherapy, and experimental treatment options. After fighting through these challenges and trying to stay positive when faced with negative outcomes of some treatments, Amy finally got some great news that she was in remission. Finally after such a long struggle, they could begin the journey back to normalcy. For a few months, as the worst seemed to be the past, they started focusing again on their engagement plans. Just as they were ready to put a deposit down on a venue, during a routine medical follow-up and testing they were told that Amy had relapsed and there were only possibly some experimental options left at MD Anderson. So their engagement and lives together is once again on hold as they focus all their energy and efforts to the storm at bay.
Although we can never fully understand what Amy and Paul are going through as Amy battles leukemia and fights for her life, we can only imagine the ups and downs of this tumultuous boat ride. We can imagine the many worries, fears, concerns, doubts, difficulties, and challenges that would cloud the mind and soul.
Please help by letting Amy and Paul know that they are not alone in this journey. That they have an entire army of family and friends, colleagues and coworkers that are there by their side to help and support. That they are our in our thoughts and prayers. That we can help remove the clouds from their minds to ease the storm.
