Support Amy Kubik's Heart Surgery Recovery
Donation protected
Hi, I am Eileen Daly, mother of Amy Kubik, and am raising funds on her behalf.
On Monday, December 2, Amy had a heart attack. She had an emergency cardiac stent placed in her right coronary artery. This procedure was done at Baptist Hospital, in downtown Jacksonville, FL, where she lives.
Unfortunately, she also had 80% stenosis in her proximal left anterior descending artery. She has 40-45% heart failure and is taking Entresto to assist her heart in pumping enough blood around her body. A team of cardiac surgeons will be performing a coronary artery bypass graft open heart surgery in January.
Amy maintains a positive outlook but will have a recovery period of several months and will be unable to work for a period of time. I have created this GoFundMe to help alleviate some of the financial uncertainty while she focuses on healing. Funds raised will help cover her household expenses, bills, and costs relating to her treatment not covered by insurance.
Amy is going through this at only 40 years of age after having already faced several tragic situations. The greatest loss was her brother and best friend, Ronnie, an Army Ranger, who was killed in action in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2010.
Her losses have given her a high level of empathy and the ability to connect with and support others in a profound way. She has worked with the Survivor Outreach Services on base to make baskets and gifts and provide emotional support to new Gold Star Families.
My daughter has always been self-reliant and hard working, managing two jobs plus taking college courses to complete her degree. So, it is very humbling for her to find herself in a position of needing help. For those who know Amy and/or those who may be affected by coronary artery disease themselves or within their family, please know that any bit helps as she takes this journey.
