Support Amy Huang's Family After Tragedy
Donation protected
We’re deeply saddened to share that Amy Huang, who had been missing since April 1st, 2025, has been recently confirmed deceased.
Amy was a bright, kind-hearted 24-year-old who lived in San Francisco. A graduate of UC Berkeley (Class of ’22) and San Francisco State University (Class of '24), she dedicated her work to helping others. As a bilingual mental health professional working in San Francisco, Amy served her community with compassion and had a strong desire to support the Asian community and high need individuals. She was ambitious and was in the process of accumulating hours to attain her clinical social work licensure (LCSW), and had just received a job offer.
Amy immigrated with her family when she was 8 years old, helping her family navigate an English speaking country, and supporting them financially as her parents got older and prepared to retire. (Amy's parents do not speak any English.) For the last two months, Amy’s father had taken unpaid leave from work to search for his daughter — putting up flyers, making endless phone calls and following up on them, doing ground searches, and now making arrangements for the funeral. Her mother was balancing the emotional turmoil, while still working in order to prevent losing her job and cover basic expenses.
On April 30th a body was found, but could not be officially identified nor confirmed. On May 30th, the body was confirmed to be Amy. Tragically, Amy’s grandmother also passed away two days before receiving confirmation. The back to back tragedies, heavy losses, and lack of financial support has left the family heartbroken and financially strained.
We would like to express our appreciation and gratitude for everyone’s continued support and care for Amy during this time, as well as everyone’s patience in final updates as we tied up loose ends.
As Amy’s friends, we’d like to make a final request to everyone: Please help lift the financial burden off her family during this unimaginable time.
We have set up this GoFundMe to support Amy’s parents as they begin to grieve and heal.
Donations will go toward:
- Funeral and memorial costs for both Amy and her grandmother
- Essential living expenses while her parents continue to work through their grief

Any contribution—no matter the size—will make a difference. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser with your network would mean the world to us.
Thank you for honoring Amy’s memory and supporting her family during this time of sorrow.
