Hello to eveyone, for those who don't know me, my name is Amy Horwath. My husband Jeff and I reside in Pine Grove PA. Long story short, 2 weeks ago I had fallen out of bed. Sounds ridiculous but was a pretty bad fall. I sat up in bed for water and 2 wood pegs fell out from under bed, bed dropped I started to fall as my feet were entangled in my sheets and started going face first, I put my hand down to catch my fall and just like that my arm collapsed and hit my head off night stand. I tried to get up and feel right back down to floor, when tried to get up using my and to help me up, I then realized that my arm had no strength and noticed something strange. I thought I dislocated my elbow, I had to keep holding my arm because if I let it go it was detached from arm. Had to call ambulance and taken to Schuylkill County hospital. After xrays taken was told I was being rushed to Trauma center in Allentownover an hour away. I was admitted right away and informed that not only did I have a bad fracture to my humerus bone(bone connecting elbow and shoulder), but also fracture to my wrist and hand with nerve damage and a concussion. So from a simple fall to being hospitalized for 3 days and placed in fullarm splint attached to body. So it has been 2 weeks now and I have to go back on 6/26/24 to b placed in my 3rd splint. I will also find out if I need surgery at that time they didn't want to do surgery right away due to not thinking my bones were strong enough to withhold the screws and plate they would use, wanted to see if in 2 weeks that new bone regrowth would help it heel on its own. I still have no feeling in my arm or hand and unable to move them. I was informed that I have a long road of heeling, at least 10-12 weeks. I had just started a really great job on 5/1/24 at Ace Distribution Center in Fredericksburg PA. My job is a very physically demanding job of heavy repetitive lifting. I was informed that brings have not been there long enough that o had to take a voluntary termination and that I am able to reapply when Dr's release me with no restrictions. So now I have absolutely no income coming in on my end. Jeff has been great and very helpful, but his income isn't enough to pay all bills and supply groceries and defenitely unable to get my medications for my other ongoing ailments too. Beyond w moved over an hour away from anyone we knowand have no neighbors living in the country area. It has been very hard. I have been reaching out to assistance programs but haven't heard anything and from this I did hear from, don't qualify for assistance programs. It has been really hard on us and set in a very depressed state of mind with not knowing how we going to get through this. I have no insurance so last of my money was used for last appt. Have another appt and another shopping I have to pay for this week. I was hesitant on my doing a go fund me,but I was told that I need to explore all my options. So I am reaching out to GoFund Me to see if anything can b done to help. I hope and pray that something out someone can help at this time. I know I can't go back to work till at least September, and I can't wait. Please and thank you
