Update: in an answer to your many prayers, Amy’s heart has healed overnight, her breathing tube has been removed, and she will be able to move out of IVU to a telemetry floor. Amy is on a long road to recovery but got to hold baby Fern Marie, born on 3/1 at 31 weeks weighing 3lbs13oz and doing well but will be in NICU for a little while.

The Holden family is going through a tough and scary time right now. If you can help them out with the unknown path ahead of them, it would be appreciated.

Amy was admitted to the ICU at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix Friday with an infection that has gone septic. Saturday night, they ended up having to perform an emergency C-section in order to save their baby. At 2 months early (31 weeks), the baby is doing as well as can be expected. There are concerns that Amy may have suffered a stroke, and they are still performing tests. She is unable to see clearly and has yet to lay eyes on their new baby girl. She is unable to speak due to a tube in her throat but is still able to communicate with gestures. Both Amy and Jonathan’s parents are in town and helping with the kids, as well as their network of local friends, for which we are all very thankful.

If you can donate any amount to help cover medical expenses and lost income, it would be greatly appreciated. The last thing they should be worried about is copays, bills, and getting back to work too soon.
