Reaching out today on behalf of Amy Hackmeier - an amazing, selfless, giving, and cherished member of our Durango community. She's a dedicated single mother, working two jobs, both in helping roles, to provide a stable and loving home for her two teenage boys. She pours her heart into everything she does, whether it's at work, at home with her kids, or working to make the lives of young people in Durango better.

In February, Amy received the news of a leukemia diagnosis that is treatable. While she hasn’t allowed this news to shake her, or her family too much, since beginning treatment in June she’s starting to slow down. She is no doubt a fighter, but the reality is that the rigorous treatment ahead may make it impossible for her to continue working both jobs and maintain her quality of life for her and her children. We're asking for your help to ease this burden and allow her to focus on what matters most: her healing and her family.

Your generous donations will go directly to support Amy and her family through this challenging time. Funds will help cover:

• Past medical bills

• Essential living expenses, like mortgage and utilities, while she may be unable to work her typical 60 hrs/week

• Support for her children, ensuring their needs for daily necessities are met.

• Transportation to and from medical appointments in and potentially outside of Durango.
